Bus services
Urban bus services are provided in Darwin (Darwinbus and Buslink and Alice Springs (Buslink t/as Asbus). Greyhound Pioneer and Oz Experience operate Intrastate and interstate services. Airport and other shuttle type services are operated in Darwin, Alice Springs and Yulara Resort

Rail services
The opening of the Darwin to Alice Springs rail line in 2004 has seen the return of rail services to Darwin since 1976 when the then Australian National Railways closed the 3'6" line between Darwin and Larrimah following Cyclone Tracey and the downturn in the mining industry. "The Ghan" was extended to Darwin from Alice Springs. There was an aborted attempt to operate a museum service on the former NAR between Larrimah and Birdum several years ago using what was believed to be a former Westrail T class shunting loco by the Larrimah Historical Society. No further information is available on this operation.
