Christmas/New Year 2004/2005 Special Timetable Arrangements.

New South Wales
Pleasure Tours will be operating to a Saturday timetable on the weekdays between Christmas and New Year (ie. Wed 29 - Fri 31). There will not be any services on either Christmas Day, Boxing Day or New Years Day. Their website has full details.

The Shorelink website announces a Christmas Holiday period Saturday timetable effective for the weekdays Wed 29 - Fri 31 December 2004 inclusive.

The following timetable arrangements will be in operation over the Christmas and New Year break:

The Westbus website has various PDF advertisements for special Christmas - New Year period timetables, covering all of their operating regions. Generally the Saturday timetable will operate on the three weekdays (29-31 Dec) and Sunday/PH timetables on the remainder, except for Christmas Day.
A special M2 timetable will be in force on the weekdays 29-31 Dec and additional 610 trips on NYE until 3am.

Punchbowl Bus Co will be operating a Saturday timetable on the weekdays between Christmas and New Year, and a Sunday timetable on the remaining public holidays (except Christmas Day and Boxing Day where there is no service).

Hawkesbury Valley are operating a special timetable for their services to operate between Christmas and New Year on routes 661 and 663 with no services on routes 662 and 664.

Transit First will be operating Saturday services on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday between Christmas and New Year with some additional services similar to last year. A similar brochure to last year is available.

Baxters. Will operate their special Christmas day timetable (as per timetables) on Christmas Day. Sunday timetable on other holidays and normal weekday services on Wednesday Thursday and Friday.

Ivanhoe & Nationalbus have announced the dates reduced timetables will operate on over December & January, as well as details regarding all 6 public holidays between Christmas & New year.

Nationalbus: The dates of operation of the annual summer holiday timetable this Christmas/New Year period will be 29/12/04 to 14/1/05, with reduced frequency timetables operating Monday to Friday. 205, 283, 303 & 319 don't run during this period. Buses every 60 minutes OFF PEAK on 270 271 281 364 365 366 367
Meanwhile, major changes include:
203 – ALL morning peak hour buses will START at Bulleen.
235, 237, 238 – will ALL operate to their normal routes this year, with reduced frequencies.
246 – 15 min frequency during the day & 30 min frequency after 19:00. Service Elsternwick - Clifton hill Interchange only.
279 – OFF PEAK services will operate every 40 minutes to either Shoppingtown OR Templestowe.
304 – OFF PEAK services will be extended to start/end at Warrandyte Bridge.
305 – OFF PEAK services will operate every 60 mins & during the evening peak hour, buses will operate every 15 min.
In most cases, departure times have altered by a few minutes on most routes. Printed timetables will be available on board buses or at the following locations from 6/12/04

On Christmas Day a special timetable will run with the same routes & timetables that have operated in years past will again run. Timetables will be available online or by calling Metlink on 131 638 from 6/12/04. On the following public holidays, a Sunday timetable will run: 26/12/04 (Boxing Day), 27/12/04, 28/12/04, 1/1/05 (New Years Day) & 3/1/05.

VENTURA.
Christmas Holiday Period Timetables - Effective Wednesday the 29th December 2004

Ventura operates a number of special timetables on weekdays over the four weeks after Christmas (normal Saturday and Sunday timetables still apply during this period). These timetables, which are referred to as Christmas Holiday Period timetables, are effective from Wednesday the 29th of December 2004 to Friday the 21st of January 2005 and apply to weekdays (excluding Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day public holidays) on routes:

700 - Box Hill to Mordialloc
733 - Box Hill to Oakleigh (trips not operating during the Christmas Holiday period are indicated with the letter "H")
767 - Southland to Box Hill.

Normal weekday, Saturday and Sunday timetables apply to all other Ventura services. The Christmas Holiday Period timetables can be found on the timetables page, under the relevant route number. Regular weekday timetables will recommence on Monday the 24th of January 2005.

The 734 Christmas Holiday Timetable was included in the latest printed timetable that started 25/10/04, but it looks like the normal service will be running, as has occurred over the last few years.

Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day
On Christmas Day, Ventura operates Sunday timetables on routes: 700, 703, 733
All other Ventura services do not operate on this day (including route 737).

On the Christmas Day and Boxing Day public holidays (27th and 28th of December 2004), Ventura operates Saturday services on routes: 700, 701, 703, 732, 733, 734, 736, 737, 738, 742, 753, 754, 755, 765, 767.
All other Ventura services do not operate on these days.

On Boxing Day, New Years Day and the New Years Day public holiday (3rd January 2005), Ventura operates Sunday services on routes: 700, 703, 733, 737
All other Ventura services do not operate on these days.

Yarra Trams - CHRISTMAS/HOLIDAY SEASON TEMPORARY TRAM SERVICE CHANGES
Saturday 25 December 2004 – Friday 7 January 2005
Yarra Trams wishes to advise that during the Christmas holiday season the following changes to regular timetabled services will occur from Saturday 25 December 2004 to Friday 7 January 2005. During this time tram services will operate to special holiday timetables.
On Christmas Day, Saturday 25 December 2004, services will operate according to the Sunday timetable (with the first and last trams as per the normal weekday timetable). The free City Circle service does not operate on Christmas Day.
On Boxing Day, Sunday 26 December 2004, services will operate according to the Saturday timetable. Extra Flinders Street trams will cater for cricket fans.
From Monday 27 December 2004 to Monday 3 January 2005 weekday services will operate according to the Saturday timetable.
New Year’s Eve services will operate according to the Saturday timetable, and services will be extended to 2am.
New Year’s Day services will operate according to the Sunday timetable (with the first and last trams as per the normal weekday timetable).
From Tuesday 4 January to Friday 7 January 2005 weekday services will operate according to adjusted Saturday timetables, with additional services in place during the morning and evening peak
Normal timetabled services will resume on Saturday 8 January 2005.

Hope St Holidays
Notices in 509 buses advise that over Christmas period (24/12 - 14/1) Sangold/Hope St Bus Lines will run the bus from 07:40 - 18:00 Mon to Thurs & 07:40 - 19:00 Fridays, with "normal hours" on Saturday, 27/12, 28/12 & even 3/1.

Northern Bus Lines Christmas/New Year services.
On 27/12 & 28/12 the Saturday timetable will apply, with no service on other public holidays.

Tullamarine Holiday Period Timetables
Upon visiting the Tullamarine Bus Lines depot, holiday timetables for 477, 478/479 & 484 were obtained. These operate from 26th Dec until 22nd Jan. Same format & times as 2003/4, but updated to show Metlink on the front side. Noted that "27th & 28th Shall operate normal services"

Yarra Trams Christmas leaflet(s)
Yarra Trams have produced a two sided DL leaflet detailing services changes Saturday 25 December 2004 - Friday 7 January 2005. The front side simply reads "Seasons Greetings" with the letters made up from photos of various businesses signage along the Yarra Trams network. As well as this leaflet, a Christmas card, with the same front cover is being given out, so it's unlikely that many passengers will end up taking both publications from the timetable racks!

Dysons Christmas Holiday Services
Dysons (ex Bell Transit) routes 513 (Glenroy - Eltham) & 517 (Northland - St Helena) will be running Christmas Holiday Timetables from 20 Dec 2004 - 28 Jan 2005. Yarra Trams has announced an all night tram service on New Year’s Eve.
“We are delighted that we will now be able to extend CBD services beyond 2am and right through the early hours of New Year’s Day,” said Yarra Trams Acting CEO, Dennis Cliche.
The Minister for Transport, Peter Batchelor welcomes the inclusion of all night free trams to the package of public transport services for New Year's Eve."This year the Victorian Government will deliver the most comprehensive public transport service ever on New Year's Eve in Melbourne - and it’s free," said Mr Batchelor.
From 3pm on New Year’s Eve until the early hours of the morning on New Year’s Day, passengers travelling on any train, tram or bus on Melbourne’s metropolitan services will have their travel paid for by ING Direct.
Mr Cliche extended his thanks to all of the Yarra Trams staff who will be working to provide the all night tram service for New Year revellers celebrating in the city.

On New Year’s Eve, Friday 31 December 2004, trams will operate to a Saturday timetable except that:
* From 7pm to 11pm the frequency of trams will be approximately every 10 minutes.
* From 11pm, the frequency will be approximately 20 minutes.
* Service frequency will be increased to approximately every 5 minutes between 12.15am and 1.15am on all routes leaving the city.
* From 1.15am to 2am, trams will run approximately every 10 minutes on all routes leaving the city.
* After 2am, Yarra Trams will be working to achieve a service frequency of approximately 30 minutes on all routes leaving the city.
* Additional trams scheduled beyond the normal Saturday service will operate in both directions on each route passing through the CBD. After 1am, Route 16 (southbound from the city) will terminate at St Kilda (Luna Park) instead of Kew.
* Trams on routes 78/79 and 82 will operate to the normal scheduled last tram, as per the Saturday timetable.

On New Year’s Day (1 January 2005), after the all night service, Yarra Trams will operate a Sunday timetable and normal fares will apply

CRANBOURNE CHRISTMAS
Cranbourne Transit ran to their Sunday timetable on Christmas Day & Boxing Day, a Saturday timetable on 27/12 & 28/12. On New Year's Day & New Year's Day Holiday, 896 will run as per the Saturday timetable, with all other routes according to the Sunday timetable.

RBC Christmas Holidays
Reservoir Bus Company are currently running to Christmas Holiday Timetables. These are effective 29/12/04 to 22/1/05. EastWest Routes 560 & 561 however are running as per normal. A Saturday timetable operated on 27/12/04 & 28/12/04. Timetables are printed in same format as last year.

Victorian country bus
Latrobe Valley Bus Lines
* On Thursday 23.12.2004 LVBL published their public holiday timetable changes from 25.12.2004 to 3.1.2005 in The Express (regional newspaper in the LV). No services ran on 25.12.2004 and 26.12.2004 and 1.1.2005 to 3.1.2005. A public holiday timetable operated 27.12 and 28.12 as follows:
Moe - Traralgon - Moe
Services ex Moe at 0800 then every 120' until 1600 then 1700. Services ex Traralgon at 0800 then every 120' until 1600 then 1700.
Morwell - Churchill - Morwell
Services ex Morwell at 0730, 0830, 1030, 1330, 1530 and 1630. Services ex Churchill at 0758, 0858, 1058, 1358, 1558 and 1658. Connected with buses to/from Moe and Traralgon.

MOONEE VALLEY REDUCED WEEKDAY TIMETABLES
As per previous years, Moonee Valley Coaches have been running reduced weekday services on both 503 & 506, this year from 27/12/04 - 23/1/05.
In the past, the only information provided for passengers has been through notices in buses. This year however, they have been viewable online via the Metlink Website, complete with times for all timepoints. Details as follows, with links to the online timetables:
